Pet zodiac sign calculator

Our pet zodiac sign calculator turns your dog's or cat's birthday into their star sign, element and ruling planet. No birthday? Use the day they came home: plenty of rescue pets go by their arrival day.

How the calculator works

A pet's Sun sign depends only on the day and month they were born, the same date ranges you'd use for yourself. A dog born on 3 August is a Leo; a cat born on 30 October is a Scorpio. The year doesn't change the sign, so it's optional here.

If you add the year, we'll carry the date over to the free reading form, so you only have to fill in their name, breed and whether they're a boy or a girl.

Birthday or arrival day?

Use the birthday if you know it. If your pet came from a shelter or a friend's litter and nobody wrote it down, the day they came home works as their cosmic birthday: it's the day their story with you began, and the free reading reads the stars for that day instead.

Questions

Do pets have zodiac signs?

Every pet has a birthday, so every pet has a Sun sign, worked out the same way as yours. Pet astrology is for fun: a playful way to look at the habits you already know, like the dog who greets every guest with a toy.

What if I don't know my pet's birthday?

Use the day they came home instead. Choose Arrival day, pick the date and the calculator gives the sign for that day. If you only know the month, pick any day in it and treat the result as a fun guess.

Why do I need the year?

You don't, for the sign. The year only matters if you go on to the free reading: with it, we can fill in the date for you on the form.

Is my pet's sign the same as it would be for a person born that day?

Yes. The Sun sign comes from the date alone, so a cat and their owner born on the same day share a sign. How they show it is another matter: a Leo dog performs for you, a Leo cat expects you to perform for them.
